Who Runs the World? Highlighting Research on Women and Girls with Bleeding Disorders
Ellen Zhang, MD from Stanford, in collaboration with Vanderbilt University and Mass General Hospital, presented work analyzing the impact of inherited bleeding disorders HHT and VWS on women to determine morbidity. The authors concluded HHT may be the most clinically significant and morbid inherited bleeding disorder among women. This work makes the case for increased funding and attention toward HHT to mitigate the gender inequality observed.
